I read the story (link below) and found myself getting irritated at everyone that I could think of to blame for this moronic decision! But as I considered my position, I was struck by these thoughts; YHWH requires sexual purity. HIS Word is replete with how HIS perspective on it. America seems to have rejected HIS will in the matter. Among those professing faith in HIS Word, there is little (if any) difference statistically in the percentages of reported cases of what would qualify in the Scriptures as “sexual immorality.” So, why should it surprise us when the courtroom is used by YHWH to hand down HIS divine judgement on those who choose sexual immorality over righteousness? Why do we cry “foul” when we should be crying out in ”REPENTANCE”!?! We point fingers at the judicial system, at the press, at the evil manufacturers and anyone else who we feel is responsible for these things even being in existance. But what if YHWH is The ONE allowing it all to happen because of unrepentance??? We know that HE sees the harlotry for what it is. So, what if this insanity is being allowed as part of HIS last ditch efforts to bring thinking people to their knees and to their senses? Think about it: If true repentance takes place in the heart, would there would any need for “plan B?” Romans 1 might a good read about now… (link to story below) May we walk, not in the fear of man, but in the fear of YHWH! http://www.onenewsnow.com/Legal/Default.aspx?id=668576This entry was posted on Tuesday, September 8th, 2009 at 6:09 am and is filed under In The News. Not to sound preachy but just to echo some of the same thoughts that I have had recently..I agree with you. It’s a heart issue…I have had this conversation with our boys many times. When we sin should we be surprised when there are consequences for it?… How loving of God would that be? Shouldn’t we just acknowledge our sin and repent??…See what we have done for what it is? Turn to HIM who has shown us the way that leads to life? NOT, just be sorry… but…SHOW that we are sorry and do what was and is HIS way in the first place?…Matter of fact…How about we just LOVE HIM and walk in HIS ways? Is that really that hard??…If we don’t truly love HIM then I suppose it is!
It’s interesting when you follow through with holding another accountable for sinful behavior…I have noticed that others are surprised. I have gotten answers like “Wow!” just because I followed through. Shouldn’t the “Wow!” be toward the one sinning not the one caring enough to speak up about it? It’s ALL backwards!
Blessings, brother and thanks for sharing the truth.
This is entirely consistent with the nature of our Creator, as seen in HIS dealing with mankind since the beginning. We have to identify sin as sin by HIS Torah, and when we refuse to do that we will not allow accountability to happen. After a time the seriousness of sin is shown by the seriousness of how YHWH deals with it. May we be people who are quick to say “yes” to HIM.
“Why do we cry “foul” when we should be crying out in ”REPENTANCE”!?! ”
Why, indeed?
I don’t know if it’s judgement specifically or just people putting themselves under the curse of disobedience…but I could go with either. The point is we have only ourselves to blame when we trangress Torah and plain-old-common-sense and then have painful consequences.
Stupid is, as stupid does…
Thanks for reading and commenting Cheptzibah! I sometimes wonder just how many of these types of things that we see and experience could be classified as HIS Judgment…and at other times as HIS mercy… HE is a merciful, loving FATHER! Blessings to you as you serve the True KING!
